Native New Yorker Justin Cheatham has been involved in the performing Arts for just about 4 decades now. Appearing on set for the first time as an actor on Sesame Street at the age of 5. He continued his life in the arts attending Manhattan School of music’s preparatory division and then Fiorello H. LaGuardia School for the performing arts as a percussionist. By the end of High School Justin had performed at both Carnegie Hall and with the NY Philharmonic. It was during his time at Ithaca College that Justin started embracing the technical side of the arts. Taking full advantage of Ithaca College’s Park School of Communication facilities he began engineering and producing radio shows and creating short films and videos. In the summers Justin interned at NY’s Supper Club where he first was introduced to a lighting control system taking advantage of an opportunity to program lights for performances and club nights.
Over the next 15 plus years Justin has worked in all facets of the lighting industry, from party and event lighting, fashion shows, television, feature films, concerts, corporate theatre, and trade shows. Whether on location, on a stage, single or multi camera shoots in 2D or 3D, Justin has done it all.
